On September 25, of last year, Swara Bhasker and her political husband Fahad Ahmad welcomed a daughter into the world. Raabiyaa is her name, given by the couple. In honour of Eid Al-Adha, Swara posted a collection of heartwarming images from Raabiyaa’s first celebration. She did not, however, show the face of her child.

Even though I wasn’t in the same city as @FahadZirarAhmad, my parents and friends helped Raabu have a happy and festive first Eid. I’m very appreciative that my child’s tribe understands that celebrations are an opportunity to spread happiness and love. My belly and heart are filled! Blessed! 🙏🏽🧿❤️✨”

Swara had chastised a food blogger earlier in the day for taking pride in her vegetarianism. The food blogger wrote, “I’m proud to be a vegetarian,” as the caption for a photo she posted of veggie fried rice with a paneer dish. There are no more tears, cruelty, or guilt on my platter.

“Honestly… I don’t understand this smug self-righteousness of vegetarians,” Swara tweeted in response to the blogger. Denying the calf its mother’s milk is the full diet plan; it involves forcing cows to become pregnant, separating them from their young, and taking their milk. Do you consume root vegetables? That eliminates the entire plant! Please don’t feel pressured to act morally just because it’s Bakr Eid.
