Xiaomi has launched the successor of its Note 4 series, the first phone launched in the Note 5 series. Xiaomi Note 5A has been launched with two models – Standard Edition and High Edition.
While the phone has three RAM and memory options – the first one is priced at CNY 699 (roughly Rs 6700) with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage and the two features 3GB RAM+32GB storage and 4GB RAM+64GB storage priced at approximately Rs 8,600 and Rs 11,500 respectively.
All the variants are available in Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, and Platinum Silver colour options. The smartphone features include sleek metal body, USB Type-C port, speaker grilles at the bottom edge and 3.5 mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is only available in the top two variants
The handset’s base variant runs on the latest MIUI 9 software with two SIM slots (Nano +Nano) and a dedicated microSD slot for memory expansion. The 5.5 inch HD display Note 5A is powered with Snapdragon 425 SoC with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 308 GPU. Internal storage is 16GB and can be further expanded. The smartphone features a 13-megapixel front and 5-megapixel cameras and is packed with 3080 mAH battery.
The higher variant comprises of 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage options as mentioned earlier. The only big difference is the fingerprint sensor between the base variant and high variant. The premium segment is powered with Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor with Adreno 505 GPU. In the higher variant, front camera has been updated to 16 megapixels with 76-degree wide angle sensor. All other specifications are similar to the base variant.
