A Surat businessman has donated Rs 11 lakh to the relatives of martyrs and Rs 5 lakh to service agencies in the wake of the deadly outbreak on CRPF jawans on Thursday that declared 44 lives.
Dewas Manek, a diamond trader from Surat, dropped a celebration for his daughter’s wedding and donated the amount as monetary support to the sorrowing families.
Manek’s daughter Ami got wedded on February 15 and the wedding celebration was due the next day after the celebration. Instead of wasting money on the marriage celebration, He chose to help the families of the jawans who lost their lives in the cowardly assault.
