Reality TV shows have been a topic of debate for the longest time. The shows which aim to bring forth the talent hiding in the country by giving them a platform to showcase the same seemed like an interesting concept.
However, with time, they have become a mere source of entertainment. And sometimes (actually most of the times) they play with the emotions of the audience by dramatizing things so much that people forget the purpose they are meant for.
The more the funny and outrageous the contestant is, the more the TRP of the show will be, and hence, the more money it will make. And this rule doesn’t apply to the contestants alone, but to judges as well. Because we have not let the future of the budding talent in the hands of those experienced, but some popular people who promise more entertainment.

So, when Chetan Bhagat was chosen as the judge of a dance reality show, there was a big hoopla around it, and he still faces the wrath of the same on social media because people cannot stop trolling him for that on almost everything. And now, stepping into similar shoes is Baba Ramdev who will judge a singing reality show for a few episodes. And there’s Sonakshi Sinha on the judging panel too, yet another bizarre choice, especially after the singers VS actors controversy.
We have seen his stints on various reality shows but now he will step in the shoes of a judge of a devotional singing reality show on Life OK, where contestants will only croon bhajans. And Baba Ramdev will probably spread his gyaan on spirituality. The show is called Om Shaanti Om.
The other two judges on the panel are Shekhar Ravjiani and Kanika Kapoor, and for a few episodes, Sonakshi will be replaced by Baba Ramdev. What a choice! Can we please, for a change, let people do their own jobs, and stop having substitutions for mere entertainment?
